MCBA is excited to bring the MCBA Medical Summit to Baltimore, MD for its inaugural event in a series of summits to be held across the country. MCBA’s Medical Summit will bring together medical professionals, cultivators, processors, and patients of color together, for the first time, to discuss the merits of cannabis medicine and the significant role cannabis can play in the treatment of illness and disease in communities of color. MCBA will host its Medical Summit at The Motor House in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, September 22. 2018 from 1-4pm.
The Medical Summit will offer to patients on-site registration assistance with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC), and free medical consultations with a Cannabis Medicine Specialist on condition-specific medical cannabis use.
To register as a medical cannabis patient with the MMCC, a patient must bring:
- A copy of a valid US government-issued photo ID
- Proof of Maryland address (i.e. a utility bill or other billing statement)
- A copy of a clear, recent photo
- Know the last four digits of their Social Security Number
At the MCBA Medical Summit, we will discuss the potential role of cannabis in closing the Minority Health Disparity Gap while addressing the history of cannabis prohibition, and the devastating effects and lasting impressions prohibition has left on communities of color. We will talk through the common myths about cannabis that pose barriers to consideration, and introduce the audience to local professionals and business owners of color who are prepared to serve the patients in their communities.

One hundred of the brightest minds in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey Cannabis policy gather to better understand how a regional approach to cannabis commerce can best benefit the communities of color most impacted by the war on drugs.
Come and hear from industry leaders on multiple topics affecting cannabis equity in the tri-state region. Among others, we will be joined by Shaleen Title, Cannabis Commissioner of Massachusetts and Adam Smith of the West Coast based Craft Cannabis Alliance.
