Louisiana  legalized cannabis for medical use in 2015 and greatly expanded the program in 2020 and 2021 through the enactment of HB 819 (2020) and  HB 391 (2021)

Cannabis in Louisiana is only legal for medical purposes.

As of Jan 2022, a patient may possess up to 2.5 ounces, or 71 grams, of raw or crude marijuana every fourteen days.
