In our latest conversation, seasoned cannabis traveler and prolific writer Veronica Castillo shared her remarkable journey in the world of cannabis journalism.
With over 200 published articles to her name, Veronica has illuminated the heart and soul of #cannabis farms, businesses, events, and communities across the Emerald Triangle, the Midwest, the Eastern and Southern U.S., and the Caribbean. Her work does more than inform, it preserves the culture, heritage, and stories of cannabis communities worldwide.
Veronica’s passion for natural medicine was born from her own healing journey. Cannabis empowered her to transition away from prescription medications, igniting a deep commitment to wellness and storytelling.
This transformation led her to connect with farms and communities across the U.S. and the Caribbean, uncovering untold stories and bringing them to life through her words. Her resilience and determination have inspired countless individuals, particularly aspiring writers from her home countries of USA and Puerto Rico, where she is a symbol of hope and achievement.
Her path hasn’t been without challenges. In the early days, Veronica often slept in her car to save on travel costs and ventured into rural, unfamiliar areas alone, a brave undertaking, especially as a woman in the cannabis space. Though some warned her that her work was “too dangerous,” Veronica’s unwavering courage and commitment saw her through.
Today, she stands as a celebrated communication strategist, serving on the Board of Directors for the Minority Cannabis Business Association in Washington, D.C. Here, she uses her voice to advocate for underrepresented communities, championing diversity and inclusion in the cannabis industry.
As part of our series honoring women in cannabis #tourism and #hospitality, we proudly recognize Veronica Castillo’s extraordinary contributions. Her transformative storytelling, relentless spirit, and dedication to leaving a lasting impact are an inspiration to us all.
Join us in celebrating Veronica’s journey and the incredible legacy she continues to build!
